Ledgenear Farm - Planning for the Future
At Ledgenear Farm in Glover, conservation means building a resilient future for the farm and the surrounding landscape. Through support from the Orleans County Natural Resources Conservation District (OCNRCD) and the Agricultural Clean Water Initiative Program (AgCWIP), James Coe and Nella Cargioli Coe have developed a Nutrient Management Plan, explored opportunities for lakeshore restoration and flood resilience, and connected with additional programs that strengthen both their operation and their stewardship efforts.
This success story highlights how coordinated conservation planning, technical assistance, education, and community partnerships are helping Ledgenear Farm meet regulatory requirements, protect water quality, and invest in the long-term viability of the farm for future generations.
