Since 1946, the Orleans County Natural Resources Conservation District (OCNRCD) has been proud to serve as a non-regulatory, community-led organization managed by local landowners.

To honor our 80-year legacy and kick off our exciting next chapter, we are opening the doors to our brand-new office, and you're invited to stop by!

We’ve timed our Open House perfectly with the Newport Fall Festival, making it wasy to add us to your weekend plans. Enjoy the town festivities, then step inside to celebrate with us. No RSVP required, just walk right in! 

What’s Happening at the Open House?

We’ve put together an exciting afternoon to celebrate our history and our future. Pop in any time between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm to enjoy:

• Anniversary Cake & Local Snacks: Celebrate our 80th with a slice of delicious anniversary cake and locally sourced snacks.
• Meet & Greet: Connect with the OCNRCD Board and Staff in our new space.
• Interactive Science: Dive into stream and erosion science at our hands-on educational stations.
• Exclusive Presentation: A brief look back at our 80-year history and a sneak peek into our current conservation work.
• Networking: Catch up with neighbors, landowners, and fellow community members.
