Celebrating 10 Years of Lake Wise on Caspian

Thursday, June 18, 2026 | 4:30–6:00 PM
Highland Center for the Arts
Free and Open to the Public

Join Orleans County Natural Resources Conservation District, the Greensboro Association, and community members for an evening celebrating 10 years of the Lake Wise program on Caspian Lake.

Over the past decade, Lake Wise has helped lakeshore landowners improve shoreline health, reduce erosion and runoff, protect water quality, and enhance wildlife habitat through voluntary stewardship practices. Thanks to the participation and dedication of local landowners, Caspian Lake has become a shining example of community-driven lakeshore stewardship.

This special event will bring together residents, Lake Wise participants, conservation professionals, and community partners to reflect on the program's impact, share lessons learned, and celebrate the people who have helped make it a success.

Attendees will hear from:

Will Marlier

Lake Watershed Program Specialist, Orleans County NRCD

Will will provide an overview of the Lake Wise program, including how it works, who can participate, and the types of best management practices that help protect lake health. He will also discuss which improvements can often be completed by homeowners and which may require professional assistance.

Stew Arnold

Co-Chair, Greensboro Association Lakes & Environmental Stewardship Committee

Stew will share the story of Lake Wise on Caspian Lake, highlighting milestones, participation over the years, and observations about the lake's shoreline health through his many years of involvement with local stewardship efforts.
