Trees for Streams Site Tour in Craftsbury

Join Orleans County Conservation District staff and board members, VTDEC and NRCS staff, an Orleans County Forester, the Orianne Society Director of Conservation, and local property owners to tour three successful streamside restoration projects.
Our Trees for Streams tour aims to showcase conservation efforts, demonstrate before-and-after results, explain program work, and connect interested landowners with other professionals working on river restoration. Target audience for the tour includes town conservation and planning commission members, local land trusts, land stewards, property owners, conservation partners, and farmers. Come witness the incredible transformation that occurs when community members and property owners take action for healthier waterways!

Bios of Our Staff and Partners attending the TFS Tour
Farley Brown is a professor of ecology at Sterling College and a member of the Craftsbury Conservation Commission (our co-host for the TFS Tour). Before teaching full time at Sterling, she was the executive director of both the Vermont Woodlands Association and the Vermont Coverts.
Ben Copans is the Watershed Coordinator for the VTDEC. His focus is on watershed planning and restoration projects in the Lake Memphremagog Watershed.
Kiley Briggs has a degree in wildlife biology and is the director of conservation at the Orianne Society. He assists private landowners to restore critical wildlife habitat
Jared Nunery works for the State of Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation as the Orleans County Forester, and is an OCNRCD board member.
Ted Sedell is OCNRCD’s Riparian Lands Program Manager. He is a fish ecologist by training, having earned his Masters of Science from Montana State University. For over 25 years, he has been involved in the development, coordination, and implementation of large-scale aquatic habitat and water quality monitoring programs.
