The Orleans County Natural Resources Conservation District (NRCD) is seeking a Quarter-Time Conservation Assistant through the Vermont Housing & Conservation Board (VHCB) AmeriCorps program. This is a hands-on summer service opportunity focused on soil health, riparian restoration, and community-based conservation work across Orleans County.

Term of Service: June 1 – August 28, 2025
Minimum Hours: 460 hours
Schedule: Weekdays, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (occasional weekend service as needed)
Location: In-person (field and office-based) throughout Orleans County

This summer service position (minimum 460 hours) offers hands-on experience in soil sampling, riparian restoration, watershed monitoring, and conservation fieldwork across Orleans County. The member will assist with agricultural soil sampling, tree planting and maintenance, field data collection using ArcGIS tools, drone flight observation, and restoration project support.

This is an in-person role combining field and office work, with weekday service and occasional weekend needs.
